Getting There

It’s only feasible to reach the Mother Lode Motel by car. Placerville is a historic Gold Rush town location on U.S. Highway 50 about 50 miles East of Sacramento. The motel sits right on Broadway, the main street and business loop for Highway 50, so it’s very simple to find. It offers abundant free ‘at-your-door’ parking – so pivotal and unique to any road trip.

If you’re coming by air, the closest major airport is in Sacramento International Airport (SMF), a relatively simple hour (60-70 minutes) drive away. To get to Placerville from the airport, you’d take I-5 south to US-50 east directly to Placerville. Car rental service must be resorted to once at the airport since there’s no direct public bus service or shuttle service available all the way to Placerville from the airport.
